Proper clothing
In winter time it is good to wear multiple layers even though the weather would not be so cold. The air between clothes insulates and it is always easier to take layers off than get back warm again. Hat is a necessity as most of the body heat escapes through head. Gloves saves your fingers from aching. We also recommend good shoes with thick soles, and a pair of wool-socks have never done anyone harm.
Events and Holidays
You can find events on the Ranua area at Visit Ranua Events, as well as on Facebook: Visit Ranua – Tourism and Travel Tips Ranua.
Yearly events are Opistoseurat (Ranua Opisto Services), Cranberry Markets and Golden Cloudberry Markets.
Events bring plenty of visitors to Ranua, so especially if you are planning your trip to be at the same time as Opistoseurat and Golden Cloudberry Markets, it is recommended to book the accommodation in advance. Also we would like to inform that cash may sometimes run out from the one cash machine we have at our village.
