Thus, the time of the trip can be chosen based on which of the seasons you want to experience. In Ranua, the seasons are defined, in addition to traditional spring, summer, autumn and winter, by the activities, such as berry and mushroom-picking, farms\u2019 works and rhythm of animals.<\/p>\n<p>The amount of light varies from Midnight Sun to Polar night. Northern lights can be seen from autumn to spring, whenever the nights are dark enough. Also, the qualities of snow are different during different phases of winter. Ranua is located close to Arctic Circle, so it is not unusual to get some snow even in June.\u00a0 One of the Finnish jokes goes: \u201cFinnish summer does not have <em>that<\/em> much snow\u201d.
